Certified Boater training for Tiber Reservoir is available online at  While Fish, Wildlife & Parks offices are closed to the public, persons interested in applying for the Certified Boater designation must complete the training online.

Launch restrictions lifted at Canyon Ferry Reservoir

Restrictions on Canyon Ferry reservoir boat launches have been removed allowing all boaters to access all boat ramps this year.  Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks sought to remove the launch restrictions after three years of testing resulted in no detections of invasive quagga or zebra mussels.

Willow Creek Boat Launch at Tiber Open Only to AIS Certified Boaters

Beginning Aug. 12, the boat launch at the Willow Creek arm of Tiber Reservoir will be open only to Certified Boaters in the Aquatic Invasive Species program.

FWP modifies boater access on Tiber Reservoir

After public input, Fish, Wildlife and Parks is changing its access plan for Tiber Reservoir this year, keeping a focus preventing the spread of invasive mussels, while providing adequate access to the reservoir.

Certified boater training now available online

Watercraft owners who primarily recreate on either Tiber or Canyon Ferry Reservoir can received the Certified Boater designation. The online training course provides participants with information about the invasive mussel threat; how to appropriately clean, drain and dry watercraft; and why it’s important for everyone to take responsibility in protecting Montana’s waterbodies.

FWP takes another look at Tiber access options

Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks is looking at other options for boating access to Tiber Reservoir that will allow for adequate access while ensuring watercraft won’t leave the reservoir without going through decontamination.
